Linda K. Anderson

Linda Kay Anderson, 70, New Rockford, ND died Tuesday, October 10th, 2017 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Linda was born on February 1, 1947, the daughter of John & Laura (Seibold) Martin at New Rockford, ND.  She attended Cathay Public School and graduated in 1965.

On June 14, 1966, Linda married Lawrence Anderson at Cathay Methodist Church.  They made their home together farming north of New Rockford.  From this union, their two children were born, Lana Jo and Loren.

Linda was also a member of Sheyenne Grace Lutheran Church.  She was a very active leader in the Green Berets 4-H Club for over 30 years, and Linda & Lawrence also sponsored roller skating at the Brown Memorial in New Rockford during this time and beyond as well as some sessions in Cathay and Sheyenne.  They enjoyed many years of square dancing together, as well as spending time with their immediate and extended family and many friends throughout her life.  Linda has always enjoyed celebrating all of the holidays, especially making them special with her many decorations and loving nature for both her children and grandchildren alike.  She has always enjoyed playing board and card games, and watching game shows and music programs on television.  Linda has always been a very active and supportive mother and grandmother, cheering her kids and grandkids on at all of their events and activities, both around New Rockford as well as traveling a distance on numerous occasions to be able to do so.

Linda worked in many roles and organizations throughout her life in the local community, as an aide and librarian at the New Rockford school, as a CNA at the Lutheran Home, the 4th Corporation, as a home health care aide, in the grocery store, with the soil conservation office, plus many other jobs.

Linda is survived by Lawrence, her husband of 51 years; children Lana Jo (Mike) Krosch of Savage, MN, and Loren (Cheryl) Anderson of New Rockford, ND; and her grandchildren Logan & Ethan Krosch, and Katlynn Setness & Landen Anderson; one brother, Fred (Alma) Martin, Lisbon; three sisters, Ardella Ockert, New Rockford, ND, Helen (Steve) Wolf, Mandan, ND, and Bev Hafner, Sykeston, ND; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John & Laura Martin; eight brothers, Baby Gilbert, Chester, Wesley, Leonard, Orville, Jimmy, Bill and Merlin; and two sisters, Shirley Truedson and Janice Martin.

Linda will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who met, knew, and loved her, whether they were lifelong relationships of hers or just more recent acquaintances.  The outpouring of love and support during her final days will forever be treasured in all of her family’s hearts.

Message: I am truly sorry for the loss and pain that Lawrence and the Anderson family and friends are feeling because of losing Ms. Linda recently in death.  Most of us have had to endure the sorrow of losing a loved one in death.  What helped me the most was prayer and faith in our loving heavenly Father, Jehovah God's (Psalm 83:18), promises like found here at 1 Corinthians 15: 26 and it tells us: "And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing."  God's kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matt. 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises, including the resurrection. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection. (John 5:28, John 6:40, John 11:23-25)  Jehovah invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. Psalm 34:18     Again, the family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences.
