Margaret “Peggy” Wobbema
Margaret (Peggy) Theresa Wobbema (Joyce), 81, Carrington, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at Carrington’s Golden Acres Manor. She passed peacefully in her sleep after a short, but especially aggressive cancer.
Peggy was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Anthony and Edith (Hamilton) Joyce on November 2, 1939. The second of two children, she was raised and attended school in East Boston, MA.
On February 2, 1957, Peggy was united in marriage to John Wobbema in East Boston, MA. After traveling and working in several different states, they settled in Carrington in 1963, where they raised seven children.
Peggy enjoyed creating things for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as special family and friends, crocheting many afghans and quilts for special occasions. She also enjoyed cross-stitching and presented many of her family and friends with framed scenes of her work.
Always having a positive outlook, her glass was always half full. Wherever she found herself, it was never very long before everyone in the area knew she was there. At home, the coffee was always on, and her door always open to anyone who stopped by, and she was always ready to provide a bed and a meal to anyone who needed one or was traveling through and needing a place to stop.
Peggy was always ready for the next adventure. She looked forward to her next chance to spend the weekend at Strawberry Lake, she enjoyed family camping excursions, family gatherings during holidays, or tagging along with anyone who was going on a trip and had the space for her to add in.
She is survived by four sons, Mike (Tracie) of Valley City; Gary (Traci) of Wilton; John of Jamestown; Kenneth of Carrington; two daughters, Ann (Steve) Schulz of Pingree; Rozanne Wobbema of Carrington; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and one brother-in-law, Harold Wobbema of Minot.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John, one daughter, Stephanie, two grandchildren, Jeffrey Lange and Deidra Lange, her parents, her sister, Edithanne Hoppe, 12 brothers and sisters-in-law, and 13 of their spouses.
Her Visitation will be Tuesday, November 10, 2020, 9:00AM -5:00PM with family present from 4:00-5:00PM all at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.
A Private Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.
Her Burial will be at the Carrington Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. I’ll miss our suppers at the Chieftain (even though that hasn’t happened for a while) and I’ll miss laughing with her. She had a great laugh and a good heart. I’ll be holding the family up in prayer during this time of loss.

Sending hugs to you Rozi and family! I used to LOVE waiting on mom at the chieftain on Saturday nights when she would come out with Gordon Jo and Kevin!! She was always happy and had loved drinking her wine WHITE ZIN!! She was friendly whenever I would see her in leevers or where ever I would run into her at! She had a happy energy that was contagious and will be deeply missed!! Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time. ♥️

I’m so sorry for your loss. Peggy was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met.
Aunt Margaret was one of my favorite people on this earth. I will miss her very much. I have so many memories and conversations to remember. Even though we lived many thousands of miles away, it never seemed too far! I was so happy that David and I had a chance to visit recently and will cherish that visit. All my love to my cousins. She was one of a kind.💕
So sorry for your loss. May God be with you all during this time of sorrow.
She was a special lady. She was part of our group at Alternative Billing Solutions. She was always a willing worker and was well liked. I remember most the good dishes she brought to our pot luck luncheons. Nothing like that North Dakota cooking!! Rest In Peace.
Peg, your grandson Elijah holds you in his heart, as we do and now God holds you in his arms.

Your Mom was one in a million. She was so proud of her kids, and she loved you all immensely. She always stopped in the office when she was at the courthouse “just to say hi” and we would talk and laugh for a good half hour. Peggy was a great lady and I will miss her dearly 💗.
