Tyrone Lyle Ross, 59, of Devils Lake, ND and Woodlake, ND was called home to the Creator and Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Tyrone was born on August 23, 1963 to Mary Ann Blackbull and Wesley Arpan in Cleveland, OH.  Later in life Tyrone was adopted into his grandpa and grandma’s home, the late John Ross Sr. and Evelyn (Mazakahomni) Ross.  Tyrone grew up around the Woodlake and Tokio area, having also lived in Georgia, South Dakota and Bismarck, ND areas until returning to Devils Lake, ND.  He went to school in Fort Totten and graduated from Four Winds High School in 1981 and proudly entered the United States Army, serving his country from 1981-1988.  He played basketball for Four Winds High School and was a traditional dancer in his younger years.  Tyrone was a member of the Spirit Lake Nation Tribe.  Tyrone was a hard worker, he took pride in everything he did.  He was a person who people could call to help fix or build whatever was needed.  He was eager to show off his new project or the business he was going to make.  His grandchildren all loved him unconditionally.  He has a laughter that could stir the whole room into laughing.  Tyrone was a good man with an even better heart, he will be forever missed by everyone.

Tyrone is survived by his children, Samantha Ross, Zachary (Brenna) Dolan-Ross, Justine Ross and Tyler Ross; grandchildren, Julian, Mya, Cante, Zane Lyle Ross, Jaycee Blueshield, Emma and Hannah Dolan-Ross, Chase Wambdi, Nico, Maretti Ross and Maddy Hoover-Ross; mother, Evelyn (Mazakahomni) Ross; sibling, Lacey and Nicole Blackbull, Erin (Mikey) McCarthy, Lynn and John Country, Elaine Ross, Curtis Ross and Rowena Ross, Ramona Lincoln, Lenora Yellowbird, Cheryl Arpan, Darin Arpan, Chance Miller, Cher Miller, Sue Ellen Arpan Reisch and Laurie Arpan and Bishop Michael Cole and special friend, Dawn Littlewind and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Zane Ross; mother, Maryann Blackbull; father, Wesley Arpan and John Ross Sr.; brothers, Glenn and Peter Ross; granddaughter, Jordan Blueshield/Ross; nephew, Nico Ross; great grandparents, James and Annie Sipto Mazakahomni and George and Verna Chaske.
