Mary Haedt

Mary Haedt, age 80, of Fargo, ND, died on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Elim Senior Living in Fargo, ND.

Mary Margaret Haedt was born on June 9, 1943 to William Haedt and Margaret (Hazlett) Haedt in Cathay, ND.  Mary grew up in Cathay.  She attended North Dakota State University in Fargo.  She worked as a librarian in Fargo for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret and her brother, Bill.

We want to express our gratitude to Elim Senior Living and Hospice of the Red River Valley for her wonderful care.

Services for Mary will be held in the Spring of 2024.

  1. Our sympathy and prayers to the Haedt family. We remember Mary from school at Cathay and Sunday mornings at the United Methodist Church at Cathay before she went off to the big city. God bless her memory.

  5. So saddened to hear Mary is no longer with us. She was a pal in the back offices at the library, and always had a fun sense of humor. We’d share cute or funny pictures to help brighten the days. She was good at reading people, and could play her cards close to the vest, but was full of kindness and light. She will be much missed.

  6. My sympathies to Mary’s family. I enjoyed working with Mary at the Library. She often would share about her growing up in Cathay, ND, and what her niece and nephews were up to – she was a very proud aunt.

  7. Mary will be missed. She was best friends with my oldest sister. Good sport to take me along once in awhile with the “big” sisters!!

  8. We both worked with Mary at the Fargo Public Library. She was so much fun to be around. Break time was spent in Mary’s office.
    So very sad to hear of her passing.
