Jordan Becker

Jordan “George” Lee Becker, 32 years old, of Sykeston, North Dakota, passed away on January 14, 2024, in his childhood home, surrounded by his family and friends he held near and dear.

Jordan was born October 23, 1991, to Dan and Kim (Bauman) Becker in Jamestown, ND. He was born at 5lbs 12 oz. and only 20 inches long.  He grew up to tower over most, at 6 feet and 3 inches, but his heart was the biggest part of him, which we will all greatly miss.

Jordan grew up outside of Carrington and attended Carrington Public School, graduating in 2010. While in school he was active in Boy Scouts in his younger years and also took part in FFA.

Jordan was kind, hardworking, caring, stubborn, wild, and always someone willing to have a good time.  He was a man of many jokes and greatly enjoyed giving grief to his family and friends. Some of our fondest memories are ones at his expense, but he knew how to dish it out just as much as he could take it. Jordan had a love for helping others.  If you needed it, he was always there to offer a hand, a tool, time, or a “good talk”. Like father like son. His work ethic was strong and getting him to sit down to take a moment was impossible. During school and after graduating he worked for the family business, Becker Construction alongside his father and brother.

In Jordan’s spare time, you could often find him spending weekends and as much time as possible near water. Many Fourths of July and weekends were spent at the family cabin on Lake Juanita with family and friends gathered around a bonfire. Jordan enjoyed tubing, jet skiing, boating, and all the lake fun. In the summer months, you could also find him at the nearest demolition derby, mud run, or autocross race. He never picked one specific thing to spend his time on, but was willing to try whatever was tabled, as long as there was good company and good food. Jordan enjoyed participating in the local pool league, hunting, and fishing if he ever took the time. He could often be found playing cards and domino games, watching football, and smoking all sorts of things on his smoker. Jordan loved to travel and enjoyed taking vacations to visit family. He tried to spend as much time as he could in his proudest title “Uncle George”. Many trips were planned “being a kid again,” with his sister and two nieces MaKaya and Casely.

Jordan is survived by his parents, Dan and Kim (Bauman) Becker (Carrington), his sister, Sarah Becker and two nieces, MaKaya and Casely (Carrington), his brother, Nicholas Becker (Carrington), his grandparents, Fred and Jeanine Bauman (Madison, SD), and grandma, Joanne Becker (Carrington); many aunts, uncles and cousins of extended families.

Jordan is preceded in death by his grandpa, Lloyd Becker, and great-grandpa Ken Granum.

His Visitation will be Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 5:00PM-7:00PM followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00PM all at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.

Jordan’s Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 22, 2024, at 10:30AM at Bethel Assembly of God, Carrington, ND.

His Burial will be at the Carrington Cemetery at a later date.

  2. We knew Jordan but not like most. He protected my husband and I from getting hurt in a bar fight. You never know when things like that are going to happen. Happened quick. Jordan jumped in front of us his big muscley arms wide open and said “I’m for you so you don’t get hurt. What a beautiful and awesome thing he did! You don’t see many people do this. He’s an Angel. May he rest in peace. Prayers coming to your family and friends for comfort and peace. Amen

  18. May you push lots of snow with your payloader and have some races with Jimmy. When you want some homemade tomatoe soup, catch up with my Dad. He was the one that taught me how to make it.
You shall make a heck of a guardian angel. Till we meet again! RIP!!
