Raynard Iceman

Raynard B. Iceman, age 60, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family by his side.

Raynard was born on November 11, 1963, to Cora (Sherman) and Donald Iceman Sr. He attended the Little Flower School, St. Michael, and then the Indian school in Wahpeton, ND. From there he went on to Flandreau Indian School in 1976.  He met Freida Fineday and was blessed with six children, Raylene, Jarene, Alison, Stephanie, Sherene, and Delbert Fineday. Raynard and Freida lived in Minnesota for a short period and returned home to Fort Totten to be closer to family. He then went to Cankdeska Cikana Community College and received his GED. Raynard always wanted to be a carpenter and excelled in this as he made the Dean’s List for the program. He worked for Sioux Manufacturing Corporation, Dakota Tribal Industries, and the Spirit Lake Casino. His latest job was working for the Spirit Lake Elderly Service program delivering meals and answering phones.

Raynard loved spending time with his family. He looked forward to any gatherings that they had to get together with one another. He enjoyed waking up early and having coffee with Delmer and going to rummage sales and bingo with his mom, Cora.  He also enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball, and riding horses and rodeos.

Raynard is survived by his six brothers, Delmer Iceman, Darren Iceman, Rusty Iceman, Donald Iceman Jr., Brian Stillday, and Donovan Stillday; nine sisters, Trudy Iceman, Bernadine Littlewind, Marcella Littlewind, Arlene Krulish, Arliss Krulish, Donna Stillday, Diane Stillday, Rebecca Stillday, and Lynette Stillday; ten granddaughters, four grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.

Raynard is preceded in death by his father, Donald Iceman Sr.; maternal grandparents, Benedict and Rosalie (Bear) Sherman; grandfather, Joseph Iceman; grandmother, Mary Black; brothers, Manuel Littlewind Sr., Maynard Littlewind, Lawrance Littlewind Jr., Delvin Littlewind and Stacey Littlewind and all the love ones that went before him.

Pallbearers:  Raybert Littlewind, Ed Lavellie, Joel Dunn, Rafeal Mendez, Jason Feather Jr., Rafeal Barragan

Honorary Bearers:  Daniel DuBois Sr. and family, John Sherman, Butch Cavanaugh and family, Stacy Dubois, Sone Longie, Donna Jackson, Anita Cavanaugh and family, Myra Hunt and family, Cathy Twohearts and family, Georgia Dubois and family, Lorna Hoffner and family, Deanna Lufkins and family, Derika Dunn, Kellen Littlewind and family, Willis Hearold, all Twohearts family, all Littlewind family, all Cavanaugh family, Rochelle Necklace, Dena Necklace and Florence Necklace.

 

Raynard’s Visitation will be Sunday at 5:00 PM followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM all at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten, ND.

 Friends wishing to join the procession from New Rockford to Ft. Totten may gather on St. Jerome’s road, Fort Totten, prior to 4:15PM.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Fort Totten, ND.

His Burial will be at St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, Fort Totten, ND at a later date.
