Marlene Pederson

Marlene Faye Johnson Pederson, 69, began her Earthly journey on May 19, 1954, along with her twin sister Marlis Kaye Johnson.  Marlene began her Spiritual Journey a day before her 70th birthday, May 18, 2024, in Grand Forks ND.

Marlene and her twin sister, Marlis, were the twins of Jerome and Stella Redday-Johnson.  Marlene received her education at Wahpeton Indian School, Wahpeton, ND, and Flandreau Indian School in Flandreau, SD.   She loved spending her time playing at the casino, listening to Country music, and spending time with her family.  She met and married Grayden Pederson in 2004, they established their home in Grand Forks, ND, and moved back to Spirit Lake just recently, up to the time of her passing.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Grayden Pederson; her brother, Roland Johnson; daughter, Holly Hill and grandchildren, Kristina Archambault, Samantha Archambault, Hillary Archambault, Brandon Hill, Kenneth Hill, Kaydence Tomahawk, Taylor Tomahawk and two great-grandchildren, Allison Redbow and Maddison Redbow; daughter, Elizabeth (Dustin) Guy and children, Iris Cavanaugh, Dustin McKay Jr., Gage Lee Guy; daughter, Dana (Tyler) Guy and grandchildren, Kayleisha Guy, Aurora Snell, Acira Snell, Ariya Snell, Kyree Snell and Tyler Snell Jr.; and son, Don Ray Guy Jr. and grandchildren, Aidan Jackson, Landon Guy, Kyler Guy and Teehya Brown, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marlene is proceeded in death by her parents, Jerome and Stella Redday Johnson; brother, Christopher Johnson; sisters, Patricia Johnson, Colleen Hill, and twin sister, Marlis Kaye Vivier-Anderson; nephews, David Johnson and Casey Smith; grandchild, Lakeisha Guy; grandparents, Joshua and Christine Merrick-Redday.

Pallbearers: Dustin McKay Sr. ~ Tyler Snell Sr. ~ William Foote ~ Lydell Jones ~ Roger Feather ~ Adrian Guy Jr.

Honorary Bearers: The Staff at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, Spirit Lake Ambulance, Scott & Linda Johnson, Lyndsy Davis, Marilyn St. Pierre, Debbie Little and family, Lavern Bear and family, Jamie Redday and family, Rose Lebeau, Dallas and Renita Delorme and family, Janice Feather and Family, Tom Lee Sr. and family, Cathy and James Yankton and Sam Merrick.  If we forgot to mention any names, please forgive us, it wasn’t intentional during this difficult time.

 

Marlene’s Visitation will be Monday at 5:00PM at St. Michael Tek. Center, St. Michael, ND.

Friends wishing to join the procession from New Rockford to St. Michael may gather on the St. Jerome’s road, Fort Totten, prior to 4:15PM.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 10:00AM at St. Michael Tek. Center, St. Michael, ND.

Her Burial will be at the St. Jerome’s Cemetery, Fort Totten, ND.

  5. R.I.P Mrs. Marlene, you always had such a caring heart I’m blessed to have your granddaughter. I’ll show her the pictures you took one day and tell her all about yu, idk why she wasn’t acknowledged but she knows Yu loved her and she adored you. My dad (Porky) always said you was sis his, he loved you n will miss you most You’ll forever be missed and always loved. Safe Journey and Fly High. Watch over all your loved ones until we meet again..
