Inez R. Lund, age 95, of Carrington passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington.
Inez Ruth Hochhalter was born October 5, 1923 at Woodworth, North Dakota, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Moser) Hochhalter. She grew up at Woodworth and attended school there. She worked at Don Johnson’s Grocery Store in Woodworth for several years. She married James Lund on April 9, 1949 at Carrington, North Dakota. They farmed near Woodworth for a short time before moving to Carrington in 1952. James passed away on February 3, 1992 and Inez continued to make her home in Carrington.
Inez was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, Senior Citizens Club, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She volunteered at Golden Acres Manor for many years. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, gardening, and quilting.
Inez is survived by her son, Larry (Sandy) Lund, Macomb, MI; granddaughter, Shelley Koger; great-granddaughters, Krystal Rossi and Chelsea Koger; and great-great-granddaughter, Lillianna Rossi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, son Kelly, three brothers, LeRoy, Lawrence, and Harry Hochhalter, and three sisters, Alice Ulrickson, Lillian Peda, and Gertrude Slotto.
Visitation: No Visitation scheduled
Graveside Service: will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Lunde Cemetery, rural Woodworth, ND. There will be a lunch served at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington following the graveside service.
Burial: will be in the Lunde Cemetery, rural Woodworth, ND.

Inez was such a faithful member of Dad’s employee family at Piggly Wiggly, Lucky Lanes, and Jack and Jill. She served the public with consideration in so many areas. She even brought both of you, Larry and Kelly, into the grocery family. We are grateful to all of you for your service to the public.
Upon her retirement, Inez served many of her former customers volunteering at hairdressing at retirement homes, so appreciated.
Blessed to have known such a fine lady.
Inez is my Aunt. She was always friendly to me on the phone and in person. I am thankful to her for telling me many interesting and funny Lund family stories. I am grateful to her for letting myself and my young family stay with her a little in 1981. I was glad to see her when she drove to Alaska with her sister, brother-in-law and Ida Benson, another aunt in 1983. It was wonderful to know her.
Inez was truly a lovely lady and friendly fixture in Carrington. She bowled with my mom, Marie Kallberg and they had such a great time. Cherish all the wonderful memories they will get you through.

I was privileged to have worked with Inez at the grocery store in Carrington when I was in high school. She was Dad’s right hand gal. I loved working and learning from her through the years and always felt a special bond between us. I loved seeing you in the Woodworth parade and always had to go by your house to see your beautiful flowers.
We will never know how many people you have touched throughout your lifetime but I know they will never forget you. I was blessed to see you one last time on Friday, the 24th just before your passing. Rest in Peace you wonderful lady.
Many wonderful memories of this beautiful woman (inside & out). She was always happy and a pleasure to talk to. Bowled with my mother (Evie Schweitzer) and was a loyal friend. Busy must have been her middle name! See you again, rest in peace.
Inez will certainly be missed. She was such an important part of Carrington. She was a good friend and was always busy helping and being where she was needed.May she rest in peace.
