Deloris E. Omoth

Deloris Esther Omoth, age 93, of Williston, formerly of New Rockford passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, July 21, 2019 at Bethel Lutheran Nursing Home in Williston.

Deloris was born August 22, 1925 in Walla Walla, Washington.  She was the sixth of seven children born to Nathaniel and Lydia Seibold.  On November 22, 1948, Deloris was united in marriage to Oliver Omoth at the United Methodist Church in New Rockford.  They lived on the family farm in Superior Township until Oliver’s death in 2007.  In 2009, she moved to Sidney, MT, where she lived until entering Bethel Homes in Williston in 2012.

Deloris was a member of the First Lutheran Church of New Rockford.  She was very talented in knitting, crocheting, and many types of crafts.  She could look at a picture of something in a magazine and sit down and make it the next day.  Deloris and Oliver always enjoyed a good game of Whist or Pinochle with friends, working in their garden, and fishing.  She was a great cook, hosting many holiday gatherings at the farm.  If the gathering was at someone else’s house, she was usually asked to “bring the beans”.  She made sure anyone who visited the farm never left hungry.

She is survived by one son, Alan (Trish) of Fairview, MT; one grandson, Anthony of Devils Lake; two step-granddaughters, Brooke of Spearfish, SD and Alicia of Culbertson, MT; one stepson, Zach of Moorcroft, WY; one brother-in-law, Milton of New Rockford; one sister-in-law, Rae Seibold of Winchester, OR and many nieces and nephews.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oliver, two sisters, Velma and Geri, four brothers, Archie, Rueben, RG, and Leroy, and infant son, Richard.

Visitation: will be Friday, July 26, 2019 from 9:00AM-7:00PM, with the family present from 5:00PM-7:00PM, at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford, ND.

Funeral Service:  will be held  Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 10:30AM in First Lutheran Church, New Rockford, ND.

Burial:  will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford, ND.

  2. I remember Aunt Deloris so well – all the visits to her house when we still lived in North Dakota and then the visits with our family when we moved from ND. She was always happy and full of life. We always felt welcomed in her and Uncle Oliver’s home. We are sorry to miss her funeral, but she will remain in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace!

  3. Alan, I am sadden by the news of your moms passing. I looked forward to our visits to the farm each year (16 years) I loved spending time with your mom and dad. She was the kindest and sweetest aunt a guy could have. Although I haven’t seen Deloris in quite some time, I thought of her often. I know your mom is in a better place now with Oliver and all her brothers and sisters. Our prayers to you and family. Mike and Lisa Hogan
