Levi Duda
Levi Preston Duda, age 29, of New Rockford, passed away Friday near New Rockford, ND.
Levi Preston Duda was born April 4, 1990, in Carrington, ND, the son of Duane and Annette (Broin) Duda. He grew up in New Rockford, attended school there and graduated from New Rockford/Sheyenne High School in 2008. Levi then attended North Dakota State University for Electrical Engineering before transferring to Moorhead Technical College to become an electrician. Upon graduating, Levi went to work at Denny’s Electric in Dickinson, ND, and later at Fetzer Electric LLC in Bismarck. He received his Master Electrician Certification in 2016. Levi returned to New Rockford in 2018 and started Duda Electric LLC.
Levi enjoyed hunting, fishing, Mud Run’s, and hanging out with his friends. He could often be found playing cards with his Grandpa Larry. Levi was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it.
Levi is survived by his parents, Duane and Annette Duda, New Rockford; a sister Kori Duda, New Rockford; grandparents, Iona (Ray) Johnson, Fargo, Larry and Bev Broin, New Rockford; aunts and uncles, Jeanette (Brian) Perleberg, New Rockford, Darrin (Missy) Broin, Fargo, Phyllis (Jeff) Parsons, Dickinson, Linda (Jeff) Wobbema, Minot, Patti (Rick) Eisenzimmer, Minot, and Dawn (Chuck) Putney, West Fargo; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lyle Duda.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 9:00AM – 6:00PM in Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford, ND, and will continue at 7:00PM followed by a Prayer Service at 8:00PM in First Lutheran Church, New Rockford, ND.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019, at 10:30AM in First Lutheran Church, New Rockford, ND.
Burial will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford, ND.

My heart has been breaking for all of you since I learned of Levi’s passing. I don’t know you, but I knew your son. He had been in my home a number of times. I loved his gentle spirit when I was around him, and his humor, and loved his hugs. I wish I had the right words, but I don’t. I know the loss of loved ones, and I know the hurt and grief we carry with us. I ‘pray’ without ceasing for your family. It won’t be easy, but let God carry you, through friends and family, who want to be there for you, and know many are lifting you all in prayer. I lost my husband Christmas Day 13 years ago…I know the journey is hard. It’s okay to be angry at God….He understands….but it was God who helped me get through day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute……I received many books from those who cared, but ‘one’ stuck out for me, and I have shared it with ‘many’ others….It’s a hard book to find, but if I can find one; I will be sending it to you. It is a short 1 page reading each day. Praying for you…….My deepest condolences ……
I am so sorry to hear this. Levi was such a well mannered young man. He was always in a good mood and fun to talk to. I can’t even imagine the pain you guys are feeling. You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Our deepest sympathies, Levi was so fun to be around when I subbed at NRS. I remember one day in literature class we were reading a story that was later turned into a movie with John Wayne in it. It was one that Joe didn’t own, but Levi said I have it. I was surprised he had it, but later found out it was Duane’s. I remember how much the students enjoyed the movie, even though I had some work for them to do. Thanks for sharing Levi with me as a teacher. Memories are the best things people can give you at this time. Prayers for your journey through grief.
Levi will be missed by alot of people he was a amazing friend always there when u needed something and kind and respectful man ……RIP MY FRIEND prayers to the family

My sincere condolences to you on the loss of your son, brother, and friend. I got to know Levi a bit when he was doing work for Fetzer Electric at my office on a construction project that lasted a few months. He was very friendly, and I enjoyed joking around with him. I ran into him a few years ago at a Demolition Derby in Mandan, and I told him he had to come back to change some light bulbs. He got a chuckle out of that one. 🙂

I met Levi when he figured out an electrical problem for me. He went out of his way to find the trouble. What a nice young man. Very sorry for his passing.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I got to know Levi a couple years ago when we had a partial power outage in our home. My daughter, a friend of Levi’s contacted him and he came to New Salem to help us out. He was so appreciated. It made me so sad to hear this heartbreaking news. I pray for God’s comfort for all of Levi’s family and friends.

This picture reminds me of the perfect combination this young man was of his mom and dad. He definitely has his mothers eyes and his dad’s grin. I am so sorry for the loss of Levi. As a grandson, nephew, brother, son and friend. In reading the comments, he sounds like he was very loved and will be missed. Prayers to all of you….
