Mae Gwendolyn Bartlett, age 89, of Carrington, ND, formerly of Grace City, ND, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington.

Mae was born December 27, 1930, at home to Kenneth and Albertina (Tufto) Hoyt.  She attended school until the eighth grade when she was expected to work from then on.  Mae was united in marriage to Eugene “Buck” Bartlett on June 2, 1951. 

They lived in the McHenry area and Grace City.  Mae worked at Golden Acres Manor for 30 years.  She was an avid Bingo player.  Mae spent countless hours crocheting afghans and doilies.  She even crocheted “The Lord’s Prayer”.  Mae also did prayer shawls.  She was a member of McHenry American Legion Auxiliary.

Mae is survived by two daughters, Gwen Harrington and Noreen Bartlett; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother, two sisters and one son-in-law Tim Gader.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, her son, Blair Bartlett, one daughter, Gail Gader, three sisters, one brother, two sons-in-law, Rann Harrington and Jim Dwier.

 

There will be a Family Service on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 10:00AM at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, ND followed by the burial at Bethlehem Cemetery, McHenry, ND.  A Public Reception will be held at the Glenfield Community Center starting at noon.

  1. So sorry to hear of your loss. I first met Mae at Golden Acres and she taught me a few things. Also we played a lot of Bingo together. She is going to be missed, but she is with her Lord.

  3. So sorry for your loss. Mae was a regular participant at the Senior meals for many years. Always so helpful assisting with cleaning off the tables, etc. We really missed her when she was no longer able to be there with us!
