Paula Biel, age 74, died November 2, 2023, after her fourth courageous battle with cancer at Sanford on Broadway, Fargo, ND.

Paula Mannix was born on September 22, 1949, in Helena, MT to Francis and Dorothy (Caswell) Mannix. She attended school at Avon, MT, graduating from Powell County High School in Montana. Upon her graduation, she enlisted in the United States Air Force. Paula was united in marriage to Richard Kingsolver from this union she was blessed with a daughter Christine.

Paula was a strong Republican, in her younger years she traveled to New Orleans to hear Ronald Regan speak. She helped Kevin Kramer when he ran for office and spent many hours supporting the Republican party. Paula was a member of the American Legion Post #25 in Carrington. Throughout the years Paula worked at ALCO as a store manager and also at NAPA in Carrington

Paula was united in marriage to Jerry Biel on January 6, 1995, in New Rockford. They made their home in Melville, ND. Every year Jerry and Paula would take an anniversary trip with a new Amtrak destination. She was an avid Vikings and Bison football fan over the years.

She spent many hours in the yard tending to her flower beds and gardening. She loved to see the hummingbirds in her flowers. Paula was known for her green thumb. She made the best jelly and enjoyed canning. Paula enjoyed keeping everyone up to date on the weather through Facebook. When she wasn’t in her yard she could often be found out fishing or camping.  

Paula is survived by her husband Jerry Biel; daughter Christine Kingsolver; a sister Melany Mannix; a niece Brandy Bieberich and nephews Joshua Frey, Reese Biel, Chase Biel, and Cash Biel.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers William Mannix and John Mannix.

 

Paula’s Visitation will be Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 1:00PM-2:00PM followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00PM all at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.

Her Burial will be at the Melville Cemetery.

  3. Oh Jerry… I’m so very sorry to hear of Paula’s passing. I wish I was in ND so I could give you a big (((HUG))). Paula was always so thoughtful and kind. I’ll always remember her act of kindness after my dad died.
    Her friends & Carrington community will sure miss her daily FB posts & her “Paula-isms”! My dear weather/garden/Viking & NDSU loving friend may you REST IN PEACE.
    Jerry .. she loved you so much and was always talking about “her Jerry” and I know how much you adored her. My sympathy.

  12. Paula was an extraordinary woman. We met online through mutual friends. She quickly made me feel like we’d known each other for ages. I loved her newsy posts of my hometown, the weather, Jerry, her flowers and pets. And of course we all got a daily reminder to wash our hands. ❤️ She’ll be very missed. Hugs and prayers to her family.
