Starson Buckles, Wicahpi Wakutepi Hoksina ~ Shooting Star Boy, age 20, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 in Fort Totten, ND.

Starson Zachary Buckles was born on December 21, 2001 to Lorry Cree and Wayne Buckles in Devils Lake, ND.  Starson attended school at Four Winds-Minnewaukan, Grand Forks Century Elementary and Bismarck, where he received his GED in Bismarck.  His favorite sports were basketball and wrestling.  Starson was a very artistic soul and had a talent and passion for writing poetic music.  He enjoyed performing his songs for his loved ones and friends.  A very respectful young man, not only to everyone in his life but for his culture and traditions as well.  When he wasn’t filling our hearts with the beautiful emotions held within his rap music, he was praying in sweats and taking on the role of rock carrier.  He will always be remembered for his big and loving heart that was very family orientated and extended to his beloved furry companion, Shunka.

Starson’s Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00PM – 7:00PM followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00PM all at the Fort Totten Rec. Center, Fort Totten, ND.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 7, 2022 at 10:00AM at the Fort Totten Rec. Center, Fort Totten, ND.

Friends wishing to join the procession from New Rockford to Fort Totten may gather on the St. Jerome’s road, Fort Totten, prior to 4:15PM.
