Warren Dalbec
Warren Dalbec, age 68, of Carrington, ND, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown, ND.
Warren Francis Dalbec was born in Bismarck, ND, on July 2, 1956, the son of Francis and Irene (Nye) Dalbec. He grew up in Wing and attended school there until the 8th grade. His father worked as a Rural Mail Carrier and at that time was transferred to Cooperstown, ND, where Warren graduated from high school. He then went on to North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND, to be an Auto Mechanic. His first job after graduating was at Farmer’s Union Oil in Rolla, where he met Jolene Hamley through a mutual friend. They were united in marriage on September 22, 1977, in Rolla and they made their home there. From this union, they were blessed with two children: Angela and Johnathan.
Warren loved to tinker and figure things out. This started at a young age and was encouraged by his Uncle Orville, who brought Warren a bunch of old meters that were taken apart. He worked on putting the meters back together on the living room floor, much to his mother’s displeasure! His hobbies included working on computers, DIY projects, watching Westerns on TV, and traveling to state parks and zoos. He was not only busy with his work, family, and hobbies, but also found time to serve on the Trinity Lutheran Church Board as a Trustee, then Vice President, and finally President.
Warren always liked a challenge, so after working as an Auto Mechanic for a couple of years, he decided to train on-the-job to be a Diesel Mechanic and work on farm equipment. In 1988, the family moved to Carrington, where he worked at the Farmer’s Union until it closed. Erickson Implement then offered him a job and he worked for them until it was taken over by High Plains, where he was employed until his death.
He will be forever loved and missed by his wife, Jolene of Carrington, ND; daughter, Angie (Reda) Elsayed of Minneapolis, MN; son, Johnny (Kim) of Mandan, ND; grandsons, Frederyk (Fred) and Sawyer (Soy) Dalbec of Mandan, ND; granddaughters, Tehya Schroeder, Minneapolis, MN; adopted granddaughter’s, Amarah Strong, Ciara Elsayed, Jasmin Elsayed, Lily Elsayed, and Roxanne Cook, Minneapolis, MN; a brother, James (Kaye) Dalbec, Olathe, KS; sister, Jeanne Nelsen, Houston, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Warren is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Irene; in-laws, Joseph and Marie Hamley; and brothers-in-law, Donald Nelsen, Dennis Hamley, Reginald Hamley; and nephew, Jason Hamley.
Warren’s Visitation will be Thursday, at 1:00-6:00PM followed by a Prayer Service at 6:00PM all at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 28, 2025, 10:30AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, ND.
His Burial will be at Carrington Cemetery.

Jolene, I am so very sorry for your loss! God Bless you and your family.
Warren and I were best friends when we were growing up in Wing. I didn’t see much of him when the Dalbec family moved to Cooperstown, but we kept track of each other. We got to have breakfast together in Carrington a few years ago and it just seemed like the old days. To Jolene and family, to Jeanne and Jim and families, and to all who loved and cared about Warren, may God be with you at this tough time.
Jolene, Angie, & John I am so sorry about Warren. My heart aches for you. Tyler & I are traveling today and he told me how great Warren was because “he knew everything about parts or anything”. He will be missed by many. Hugs for comfort in the days ahead. Blessings.
Jolene and family, we are so sorry to hear of Warren passing. How sad. Thoughts and prayers to you all.
Jolene, I’m so sorry for your loss. I pray that you and your family are wrapped in love and friendship of others. Draw strength from sharing memories of Warren.
Our deepest sympathy in your loss. The only time that I saw Warren as an adult, and we had a short visit, was one year when Jerry and I were at the Carrington High graduation for one of Jerry’s relatives. When I was in high school at Wing, I taught Bethlehem Lutheran Church’s five-year-old Sunday School class. Just today, I sorted through some memorabilia and discovered that I saved the list of gifts that I received for my high school graduation. Warren gave me a towel and wash cloth, a great gift when I was moving away from home. Cherish the memories that you have.
To Jolene and entire family. Technology can be so great; I just watched the service for Warren which was so very nice. I hope you all find peace and comfort.
