Maxine Louise Edland, age 84, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at her home in McHenry, ND.

Maxine was born on October 2, 1940 to Walter & Lucile Albert in Erie, ND.  She grew up and graduated from High School in 1958 in Erie, ND.  She also graduated from North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND in 1962.  She taught school in Rothsay, MN, Riverdale and Cooperstown, ND.  She married Roger Edland on July 23, 1966 in Erie, ND.  They moved to the family farm near Glenfield in 1969 from Cooperstown.

She attended all her sons and grandchildren’s sports, concerts and school events.  She enjoyed square dancing, golf, gardening, handiwork and crafts, cross country skiing and shooting.  Maxine fought an 18-month battle with cancer.  She loved Medora and the Badlands and was able to make a trip in July.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Edland; 2 sons, Jeffrey (Kim) Edland and Steven (Tammy) Edland; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; a sister, Florence (Gary) Welharticky; a brother, Gene Albert; a brother-in-law, Don Pingee; and many nieces and nephews.

Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Katherine Pingee; in-laws, Dorothy & John Edland, Marlys Edland, Frank Pilley, and Brenda Albert.

Her Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2024 from 1:00PM-2:00PM followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00PM all at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, McHenry.

Her Burial will be at the Glenfield Cemetery, Glenfield, ND.
