Schanina Feather

Schanina “Nina” Feather, age 36, died on Sunday, May 26th, 2024 in Minneapolis, MN.

Schanina Feather was born in Devils Lake, ND on May 21st, 1988 to Angeline Feather and Alexander Greywater.  She attended elementary school at Thomas Eddison and high school at RRALC, where she completed up to grade 11 before she became pregnant and moved to Bismarck where she had her firstborn, Princesa. She became a stay-at-home mom and was proud of her baby, showing her off to everyone. She moved back to Moorhead, MN, and started working as a housekeeper at a few different hotels throughout the years. Schanina met Aaron and they had Ares and Sayah. Years later she met Fred, they had Aysa, her last baby love. Nina loved the cities, she would go home to her family in Moorhead, MN but would always end up back in Minneapolis.  During her last few years of her life, she became a grandmother to Ha’zias and that was the proudest she’s ever been, talking about her grandbaby to anyone who would listen. They loved going to the park, swimming and just causing ruckus together. They were almost inseparable.

Schanina had a stroke in 2023 and ended up in the hospital surrounded by all the ones who loved her. After she was released from the hospital she had to learn to become independent all over again. Once she became independent she found herself back in Minneapolis where she was ultimately called to begin her spiritual journey.

She is survived by her children, Princesa Feather, Ares Feather, Sayah Feather and Aysa Feather;  mother, Angeline Feather; step-father, John Greywind Sr.; siblings, John Greywind Jr., Kelsey Greywind and Jastin Feather; grandson, Ha’zias Northern; grandmas, Janice Feather and Renita Delorme (Dallas Delorme); cousins, Shayla Parrow (Lance Parrow, Kenneth Tomczak), Isidra Davis (Asa Davis), Starla Feather, Chaske Guy, Tasha St. Johnn; nieces and nephews, Lance Parrow Jr., Catalina Parrow, Ariyah Davis, Noelani Davis, Liam Tomczak, Victoria Tallman, Arthur Tallman, Jr.; uncles and aunts, Curtis Guy, and Adrian Guy Jr., Kenny Thompson and Kendra Thompson, Bonnie Birdsbill, Shontal Lajeunesse-Mishow, Sophia Redday and Crystal Redday and many more. If we left anyone out it wasn’t intentional.

Schanina was preceded in death by her father, Alexander Greywater; her aunt, Jocelyn Feather; her uncles, Raphael and Little John; her best friend, Ashley Tellinghuisen; her grandmothers, Andrea, Jennifer and Bonita; and her grandfathers, Gilbert, Levi, Oliver and papa Chuck.
