John L. Fritz Jr., 87, of Jamestown, formerly of Carrington, ND, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Eventide, Jamestown.

John Leroy Fritz Jr. was born on June 20, 1934 to John Fritz Sr. and Berdie “Minnie” (Pierce) Fritz in Carrington, ND.  He attended school through the eighth grade.  He served for a period of time in the North Dakota National Guard.

John was united in marriage to Beverly Johnson on May 20, 1956 on her family’s farm near New Rockford. John and Beverly were blessed with five children.  John was self-employed for a number of years prior to working for the City of Carrington, from which he retired from. He was a member of the Federated Church UCC/UMC of Carrington.  John enjoyed spending time with his family and going camping with his family. He also enjoyed listening to country music and playing his accordion and trumpet.

He is survived by two sons, John (Jodi) of Jamestown, ND and Robert of Houston, TX; two daughters, Debra (Jim) Schielke of Houston, TX and Lori Malo of Rapid City, SD; nine grandchildren; a Brother Roger and a sister Geraldine (Walter) Aipperspch.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents, John Sr. and Berdie; one son, James and one grandson.

John’s Graveside Service will be held at a later date.  Burial will be at the Carrington Cemetery, Carrington, ND.
