Shirley Gillig
Shirley Ann Gillig (Larson) passed away Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, at Ava Maria Village in Jamestown, ND, at the age of 83.
Shirley was born February 24th, 1941, at home in Sheyenne, ND, to John and Irene Larson.
Shirley attended school in Sheyenne, ND.
Shirley enjoyed spending time at home with family and friends, she also enjoyed playing cards, board games, going to the casino, and going for early morning walks until she wasn’t able to anymore.
In 1991, she reunited and married her first love, Carl Gillig. They spent their years enjoying life to the fullest, they were never seen far from each other.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Sherry Larson of Jamestown, ND, and Sara (Joseph) Dunn of Jamestown, ND; a brother, Rodney Larson of Sheyenne, ND; two sisters, Jennie Wilson of Georgia, and Bonnie Larson of Sheyenne, ND; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Ell of Sheyenne, ND; four grandchildren, Felix Littlewind, Breanna Larson, Shayle Larson and Raymond Dunn; great- grandchildren, Maeson and Hayden Larson; adopted grand-daughter, Korrin Lies, all in Jamestown ND.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, John and Irene; her husband, Carl Gillig; a brother, Jerry Larson; two sisters, Margaret Manning and Dolly Bellon; and a grandson, Jerome Dunn.
Shirley’s Visitation will be Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 10:00AM-11:00AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM all at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.

Sending my condolences 💐 to all of Shirley family . Well growing up you were big part my life & I will always remember so many memories of you. There’s one thing everyone that was close to you, you treated them like family. Other thing is you and Lena where the best of friends, I remember so many memories of you guys. I’m sure you were greeted by many. Bet you and grandma are dancing and talking again.
Sherry and family – I am so sorry for your loss. Shirley was such an amazing, loving, and kind woman; she will certainly be missed. I pray your memories bring you comfort during this incredibly difficult time. Please know you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Sending my heartfelt condolences to all of Shirley’s family. She was a second mother to me along with her family being mine. She was a wonderful woman, I’m so sorry for everyone’s loss.

My condolences. While I sadly didn’t know Shirley, I knew her husband Carl. He was a good friend of my older brother, Gene. I have good memories of him and am glad to see he found a loving person to share life with.
