Becca Goter
Rebecca “Becca” Goter-Kuruc, of Woodworth, ND was taken suddenly and peacefully from her family and friends much too early at the young age of 42 on the evening of October 24, 2023.
Becca came into this world on January 13, 1981, in Carrington, ND as the first child of Dean and Deb Goter. She spent many years living in different parts of the US, including Texas, South Carolina, and Washington State. Rebecca was a “people” person and felt most at home in the service industry where she would always bring a smile to her customer’s faces and enjoy carrying on a conversation with them. She returned to ND in 2015 living in Jamestown for the first two years and then moving to Woodworth where she worked at Tito’s Tavern and soon after decided to become business partners with her brother Martin in 2019. She was also elected to the City Council of Woodworth, ND, and was a current member at the time of her passing.
Rebecca was an avid collector of dollar bills and coins and she always loved her crosswords, trivia games, and random facts. She enjoyed playing darts, pool, and pinochle; attending tournaments whenever possible. She had 2 dogs who were her “babies” and also enjoyed caring for her many plants. Orange was her favorite color and she would collect anything and everything that included it. One of her favorite pastimes was coming up with new flavors for the Woodworth Teas and introducing them to newcomers and regulars at the bar.
She is survived by her Parents, Dean and Deb Goter; her Brother, Martin (Adrienne) Goter; many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins; and her 2 dogs, Mercury and Xena. She touched the lives of so many people in her community, family, and the friendships she made; she will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Humane Society or the Prairie Paws organization in Jamestown, ND in Rebecca’s name.
Becca’s Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, Woodworth, ND.
Please join us for continued fellowship at Tito’s Tavern following the luncheon.

Every year we head to Woodworth to chase ducks. Becca was always a welcome face we were happy to see. It was hard to hear of her passing.
My deepest condolences to her family .
So sorry to hear of the passing of Becca. Growing up together in Sykeston, I remember how kind she was to everyone who crossed her path. Sending condolences to all her family and friends!
Oh Becca, what do i say? I’m so sorry we lost touch. I have missed you and now will have to continue missing you. I love you, my friend. Gawd, I miss you.
Dean, Deb and Martin my heart hurts for all of you, I am so sorry you are having to go through this. Becca was a unique person and will be missed by many I’m sure. I pray God will give you comfort in time.
Many evenings were had with individuals sitting at the counter with Becca watching Wheel of Fortune to see who would be able to guess the puzzle first and so many games of pinochle played at the yellow table, she was so proud every time she was able to beat one of the guys.
Becca worked hard and even though she may have been busy, she had a greeting and smile for everyone that entered.
She will be watching over all of us to make sure the famous “teas” are being made correctly.
Rest easy my friend and know you will not be forgotten.
Thoughts and prayers being sent to Dean and Deb! All of you have a beautiful Angel watching over you from up above! The “teas” were the best!
Prayers for all she was a very unique lady. I will miss her smile very much.
To Becca’s family… our sympathy. Our entire family is so saddened by her leaving this world too soon. She was a happy face we looked forward to seeing, and trips “home” to Woodworth and deer season won’t be the same. Becca was one of a kind and a kind soul. Undoubtedly we will miss her, her quick whit, sense of humor and… her funny t-shirts. 🙂 So long for now… cheers to you, Becca!
Our hearts are heavy! May God bless you all during this difficult time!
