Esther Guthmiller
Esther Guthmiller, 96, of Carrington, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Golden Aces Manor, Carrington, ND, surrounded by her family.
Esther Martin was born May 9, 1928, to Fred and Margaretha Martin. She attended school in rural Tappen, ND. On February 22, 1946, she married Lawrence Guthmiller at Moorhead, MN. They farmed for many years on a farm north of Pettibone. They retired from farming in 1986 and in 1998 they moved to Carrington. Esther moved to Golden Acres Manor in January 2021. During her lifetime she loved to embroider and tend to her garden. She embroidered many sets of dish towels each year as each of the women in the family was given a set for Christmas for many years. The family will miss her good homemade soups and strudel.
Esther is survived by three daughters, Della (Neil) Lutman, Mavis (Dean) Larsen, and Jolene (Floyd) Schulz, all of Carrington; a son-in-law, Gary Reed of Oriska; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Devillers of Carrington and a sister, Tabea Mueller of Steele; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 16 great great-grandchildren.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; a son, Arlen; a daughter, Betty; six brothers, Walter, Fred, Tilmon, Israel, David and John and seven sisters, Verna, Caroline, Leah, Emma, Lydia, Norma and Mary.
Esther’s Visitation will be Monday, June 24, 2024, from 9:30AM-10:30AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30AM all at Grace Lutheran Church, Carrington, ND.
Her Burial will be at the Petersville Cemetery, Pettibone, ND.

Sympathy to Esther’s family. I always enjoyed waiting on her and visiting with her when I worked at the bank. Mothers are very special. Sorry for your loss.
