SO SORRY TO HEAR OF VELORAS PASSING. I GREW UP WITH VELORA AS A NEIGHBOR AND A FRIEND. WE CELEBRATED OUR BIRTHDAYS ON THE SAME DAY. NO MATTER WHERE WE LIVED SHE SENT ME A BIRTHDAY CARD AND ANNIVERSARY CARD EVERY YEAR. I WILL MISS HER. BLESSINGS TO HER FAMILY AND MAY SHE REST IN PEACE.
I am so sorry to see this. She was wonderful to work with and so thoughtful. My husband still asks me to make “Velora brownies” and proceeds to eat 1/4 of the pan with ice cream before they are cooled off.
Oh, Velora!! What a “work” friend she was! She did many things that were not in her job description. She cleaned many nasty lab spills including pretreating and washing uniforms that never showed a permanent stain. She opened her home on blizzard nights that included a meal, solving the daily crossword puzzle and “Wheel of Fortune “
She made countless pans of “Velora’s Brownies” and shared them while they were still warm! RIP my friend.
My Aunt Velora, I have so many memories of her when I was young. we celebrated many Christmases at her house. I remember stopping at her house for a cookie and coffee when we would come in from the farm. Rest in Pease Auntie.
So very sorry to hear this. What a great gal. Loved working with her. I loved her famous brownies & baked spaghetti. She was the hostess with the mostest!! Rest in peace Velora.
John and family, we are so sorry for your loss. She was quite the gal.
