Eulis Rogers
Eulis S. Rogers, lovingly known as “Bunk” amongst his circle of family and friends, passed away peacefully in his sleep with family at his side on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
Bunk was the third child born to Joseph and Helen Rogers in the early morning of April 16, 1930 in a small and busy logging camp in northern Arizona. Shortly after his birth when he was only four months old his family of five moved to Oklahoma in search of a better life.
Eulis spent the next twenty years in Oklahoma where his education and religious upbringing prepared him eventually for the trip out west where he finally settled in the glass manufacturing business with some of the best-known glass companies in the world.
Suddenly drafted into the Army in 1952, he served patriotically for his country in Europe and then returned in 1956 to resume his career and family life in Bell Gardens, California.
In 1962 the next chapter of his life began when he met the true love of his life, Deloris “Toots” Bonadiman. The wedding bells rang in 1962 and their journey together in raising a family of their own continued for fifty-six glorious years until Deloris’ passing in the winter of 2018.
Blessed with fifteen great grandchildren (and growing), which are the offspring of fifteen grandchildren, he is survived by his son, Robert Bonadiman and his wife (Jan); and his daughters, Sheryle and Rose and their husbands, (Chuck and Ira), respectively.
Today we celebrate a life well lived in the hope that his passing will be a blessing on his family and many friends. Amen.
A funeral service for Eulis will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park – Mortuary Chapel, 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601. Following the funeral service will be a visitation from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rose Hills Mortuary.
Eulis will be laid to rest in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Primrose Lawn; Gate: 1, Section: 9, Lot: 2239, Grave: 1.
