Darrell Wolsky

Darrell Wolsky, 77, passed away at Sanford Hospital in Fargo on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Darrell was born on August 4th, 1944 to Walter and Lois Wolsky in Kensal, ND. He grew up on his family farm near Bordulac, where he attended school until he graduated in 1963. His class was the last class to graduate from Bordulac High School. He then attended NDSCS college for 2 years graduating with a degree in welding and machine shop. Darrell used his degree to come back home and work on the family farm.

In 1960, Darrell met the love of his life Susan Palmer. They dated throughout high school and college, they were married on June 15, 1968, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Carrington. Darrell and Susan had an inseparable partnership that many around them easily recognized. Darrell created a remarkable love with Susan that could not be matched.

After college, Darrell moved back home to farm with his dad and start a life with Susan.

Darrell and Susan built a house on the family farm where they raised their 2 children, Kevin and Katie. The kids kept Darrell very busy and did not give him a chance to rest.

Darrell was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the parish council. He served as a member on the Foster County water board for 10 years along with being a lifetime member on the National Rifle Association.

After a lifetime of farming, Darrell retired in 2006 but continued to be the groundskeeper and kept a good eye on the farming. Darrell loved his land and valued it deeply. He took great care of it, mowing grass, moving snow, and making sure everything was intact.

Darrell held a special place in his heart for his grandkids. He loved spoiling them and spending lots of time with them. He was their biggest supporter in everything they did. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything he could do outdoors.  Some of his fondest memories were fall hunting trips to an Oregon ranch and summer fishing trips to Lake Sakakawea with family and friends.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Wolsky; sister, Linda Schultz; brothers-in-law, Dennis Palmer, Frank Rummel, and Gary Schultz; and sister-in-law, Judy Wolsky.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; brother, James Wolsky; and sister, Peggy Rummel. Children, Kevin (Jennifer) Wolsky and Katie (Zach) Heller. Grandchildren, Kaden (Phallyn) Wolsky, Grace (Austin) Hendrickson, Emma, Haley, Reagan, Kallen, Krew, Aleah, Aubree Wolsky, and Jaxon Heller. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.

Darrell was a wonderful husband, loving father, supportive grandpa, great friend, and an admirable individual. Darrell will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Darrell’s Visitation will be Monday, from 12:00PM-5:30PM followed by a Prayer Service at 5:30PM at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.

His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 10:30AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, ND.

A Burial will be at the Carrington Cemetery.
