Wayne C. Anderson

 

Wayne C. Anderson, age 49, of Devils Lake, ND, died Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his home, under the care of family and Altru Hospice.

Wayne Craig Anderson, the son of Dennis Craig Anderson and Olivia Mae Jetty, was born October 17, 1966, in Hibbing, MN.  He lived in Wyoming, Oregon and Montana with his mother, and later lived in Mandan/Bismarck with his father, finally making Devils Lake his home.  He was employed at Spirit Lake Casino & Resort for 18 years, and was a Surveillance Supervisor at the time of his death.  Wayne had served prior as a Spirit Lake Police officer for 2 yrs, also on the Fire Department, and earlier was also employed at DTI and other various jobs.

Wayne had graduated from Bismarck High School.  During that time he participated in Rodeo, and then went into the sport of Boxing.  Wayne became a 4 year Golden Glove Champion.  He trained for the Olympics along with Virgil Hill, with Edward Swartz and Virgil Chase as trainers/coaches.  Wayne took pride in his boxing, and enjoyed the sport very much. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, watching Boxing and Rodeo on TV, and also his favorite shows of Gunsmoke and Bonanza. Later in life he enjoyed going to Pow Wows as well.  Wayne liked many types of music, he loved to sing Karaoke and even won several competitions. 

Wayne had four children from his previous marriage.   He met the love of his life Jolene in 2012, and they were united in marriage on April 26th of 2013.  They have made their home in Devils Lake. 

Wayne was very loving, caring, respectful, kind-hearted, helpful, and thoughtful.  He was a very hard worker, was full of life, gentle to everyone he knew, and willing to help anyone that needed.  He was very religious, and a believer of his Catholic faith.

He is survived by his wife Jolene; 4 children, Stacy, Megan, Melissa (Greg) Wimberly, and Wayne, Jr.; 4 step-children, Darion, Tristen, Marquell & Keplin; 8 grandchildren, Keandre, Kaylin, Kaylee, Kylee, Gage, Damon, Mia, Julissa, 5 step-grandchildren, Saige, Shyne, Serenity, Saeleigh, Savior; his brother Casey (Nikki) Dietz, his twin sister Lisa (Norvin) Beaver; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews & nieces.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Olivia, step-mother Charlene Belgarde, both sets of grandparents Theodore & Evelyn Anderson, and Oliver & Sarah Jetty; uncle Daniel Jetty & aunt Patty Jetty.

 

VISITATION:

Thursday (Sept 8th) 5PM – 8PM, at St. Michael Recreation Center, St. Michael, ND.

Friends may join the procession from New Rockford by gathering at the junction of Highways 281 and 57, Thursday at 4:45PM

ROSARY SERVICE:

Thursday 8PM at St. Michael Rec. Center.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL:

Friday, September 9, 2016, at 10:00 AM, in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael.
