Arthur Keith Bartlett

Arthur Keith Bartlett, age 75, of Glenfield, ND, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 19, 2015

Keith was the last surviving child of Henry Arthur and Myrtle (Barker) Bartlett.  He was born on January 4, 1940, in McHenry, ND, and was delivered by Mrs. Little (a mid-wife).  Keith grew up and attended school in McHenry, and he attended college for a short time in Mayville, ND.  Keith then lived in Sheyenne, ND, where he played baseball before moving to New Rockford, ND.

Keith met and married Judith Lies on October 20, 1962, at New Rockford.  The day was special for a second reason – it was Mickey Mantle’s birthday!   Keith & Judy were married 53 years.

In February 1963, they moved to Renton, WA, where Keith worked for Kenworth Motors and later went into carpentry.  In 1970, the family moved to Minnesota, and Keith managed a gas station.  They moved to Glenfield, ND, in 1975, and Keith did carpentry work and also drove school bus until he retired due to his health in 2004.

He was an avid New York Yankees fan all of his life.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, baseball, old western movies, and his family.  He suffered many health problems, but amazed his family with his strength to fight through many surgeries and cancer.

Keith is survived by his wife Judy; one son Brian (Lisa), Steele, ND; four daughters, Christine (Calvin) Knutson, Jamestown, ND, Cynthia (Ronn) Stangeland, Juanita, ND, Robin Knutson, Casselton, ND, Mandy (Josh) Burbank, Grand Forks, ND; 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Eugene “Buck”, Clifford, Lyle, Howard, and Leo; three sisters, Eva, Katherine and Donna.
