Blanche Petersen, age 88, of Carrington, ND, died Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND.

Blanche Elizabeth Page was born on May 15, 1923, the daughter of Hosea and Minnie (Minkel) Page in Carrington. She was raised and attended school in Carrington.

On May 31, 1946, Blanche was united in marriage to Harland Petersen in Jamestown, ND. They farmed near Melville, ND, then later at Barlow, ND. In the early 1950’s, they moved to Carrington.  Blanche was a homemaker and worked as a waitress for several Carrington cafés. Harland died February 13, 2007.

She was a member of Federated Church in Carrington. Blanche loved to crochet, enjoyed flowers and going for drives in the country.

Blanche is survived by two sons, Dwight (Jayne) of West Fargo, ND and Duane of Watauga, TX; one daughter, Luana (Richard) Hieb of Coleharbor, ND; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Fawn Kautzman, Carrington, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harland; two sisters and four brothers.
