Gladys L. Brockway, age 99, of New Rockford, ND, died Monday, October 14, 2013, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, ND.

Gladys Lorene Finley was born March 29, 1914, in Columbia Township, Eddy County, the daughter of Jeremiah M. Finley and Gertrude Mae (Williams) Finley. She attended Eddy County rural schools.

On August 20, 1947, Gladys was united in marriage to Mark Brockway at the Lake Washington Township Hall near Warwick, ND. In 1947 and 1948, they lived in Minneapolis, MN, they later moved to Ft. Clark, ND and Hurdsfield, ND, where Mark served as a Nazarene pastor. In 1964, they moved to Minot, ND where they remained until 1979, when they moved to New Rockford. In 1996, they returned to Minot. Mark died on September 5, 1998. Gladys lived in Minot until she entered Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in November of 2010.

Gladys is survived by five nephews, Ervin Lewis, Charles Lewis both of New Rockford, Jim Lewis, Wing, ND, Bill Finley, Alexandria, MN, and Tim Finley, Oberon, ND; 3 nieces, Elva Harrington, Minot, Patsy Hendrickson, Devils Lake, ND, Marion Schmidt, Maddock, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, Mary Elizabeth (Finley) Lewis; three brothers, Harold Finley, Roy Finley, Phillip Finley; three nephews, Roland Lewis, Clayton Lewis, Dale Lewis; two nieces, Nellie Kraft and Gertrude Dodds.
