Dale Brown
Dale D. Brown, age 59, of Snohomish, WA, died Friday, February 28, 2014, at his home. Dale D. Brown was born February 15, 1955, the son of Evan and Inez (Nysted) Brown at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND. He was raised on the family farm east of Carrington and graduated in 1973 from Carrington High School. Following graduation, Dale moved to Missoula, MT, and began working at Champion International Lumber Mill in Bonner, MT, where he was a mill wright and knife sharpener. Working there until 1993, Dale then began working at the lumber mill in Darby, MT, until 1998, when he moved to Everett, WA, and began working at Riverside Lumber in Snohomish, WA. In June 2012, Dale moved back to Carrington and resided there until moving back to Snohomish in December 2013. He was currently working at Riverside Lumber. He was an avid fisherman, especially enjoyed fishing in the mountains, streams, and lakes of Montana and Washington. Dale enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour books and collecting guns. He could be found frequently “tinkering” on old cars or pickups, and stereos. Dale is survived by his mother, Inez of Carrington; his siblings, Merrilyn Dahl and Twila (Curt) Klein, both of Carrington, Janel Rice of Altus, OK, Mark (Jen) Brown of Burlington, IA, and Michael (Julie) Brown of Carrington; nieces and nephews, Amber (Nathan) Kruse, April Klein, Easton Brown, Eric Rice, Karlee Brown, Kevin Rice, Lucas Brown; great niece and nephew, Addie Urness and Braden Kruse; aunts and uncles, Phyllis (Hank) Gussiaas of Carrington, Carol Sutherland of Missoula, MT, Elsie Polutnik of Missoula, MT, Jean Larson, of Owatonna, MN, George (Dotty) Brown of Devils Lake, ND, Alice Neumiller of Jamestown, ND, Gerald Brown of Hurdsfield, ND, Lynda Brown of Eagan, MN, and Carol (John) Manley of Carrington. He is also survived by his beloved dogs Lexi and Noble, his great friend Roger Cook of Darrington, WA, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Evan; his grandparents, Louisa & Gustav Brown and Ruth & John Nysted and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Message: It was such a shock to learn Dale had died. I have such fond memories of the summers I spent with my cousins on their farms in ND. As a young city kid, there was no end to the adventures with Dale and the others. I'm so very grateful I got to visit with Dale last July as I passed through Carrington. With much love, Barry
