Marilyn Bucholz
Marilyn Bucholz, age 79, of Carrington, ND, died Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Carrington Health Center, Carrington, ND. Marilyn Mae Engelstad was born on July 9, 1936, in Gatzke, MN, the daughter of Eddie & Nora (Leshar) Engelstad. She grew up and attended school in Gatzke and later attended Moorhead Teachers College and taught for one year in Grygla, MN before getting married. Marilyn was united in marriage to Ronald Bucholz on December 27, 1956, in Gatzke, MN. In 1958, they moved to Grace City, ND, where she was a very active member in Grace City Lutheran Church, and in the community. In 1996, they moved into Carrington where she became active in Trinity Lutheran Church and the Senior Center. Marilyn loved her family and was like a mother hen to many others as she would keep an eye out for them. She enjoyed entertaining and visiting with friends, she always had something in the freezer in case company came by and then coffee was only 10 minutes away. She enjoyed playing Whist and Bridge. She would host card parties at her house and at the school gym, and loved cooking and baking for the parties. Marilyn was survived by her husband Ron Bucholz; four children, Lori (Darwin) Solberg, Carrington, Charles (Maureen) Bucholz, Fargo, ND, Bob (Jody) Bucholz, West Fargo, ND, and Jodi (Kevin) Gader, Bismarck, ND; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; two brothers Ronald (Linda) Engelstad, Grygla, MN, Richard (Carol) Engelstad, Gatzke, MN. Message: Ron, Lori, Chuck, Bob, Jodi & families:
Sorry to hear about the passing of your wife, mother, grandmother, & great-grand mother.
In the last few days, I go back and relive the memories of Marilyn at basketball/softball games. The parties they would have after each season for their children's team was neat. And how positive they were to the whole team was cool to hear. I also was impressed with Marilyn and how she would recognize your voice when talking with her. These memories are still very vivid.
I developed a great friendship with all of your kids through school and sports. Times like this are so, so tough but as the days go by, you start to remember all the memories which you will cherish forever.
God Bless you all during this trying time.
