Lucille Butts
Lucille J. Butts, age 93, of Carrington, ND, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, ND. Janetta Lucille Brady was born on March 20, 1920, the daughter of Sam and Ida (Lester) Brady at Vashti, ND. She attended Vashti country school and later Carrington High School. On August 30, 1937, Lucille was united in marriage to LeRoy Butts in Fargo, ND. They farmed in Wyard Township near Carrington and in 1944, bought their farm south of Carrington. They loved dancing, playing cards and bowling. After retiring from farming, they spent many winters in Arizona. She was a member of Federated Church, Dover Community Club, Homemakers Club, National Flying Farmers, and VFW Auxiliary. Lucille is survived by her husband of 76 years, LeRoy; daughter, Patti Skadberg, Carrington; daughter-in-law, Judy Butts, Casa Grande, AZ; 5 grandchildren, Kal (Debbie) Skadberg, Fargo, ND, Vicky Trottier, Grand Forks, ND, Stacey (John) Rzaszutak, Carrington, ND, Nicole Butts and Daniel Butts, both of Casa Grande, AZ; 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Chester Brady, Scottsdale, AZ; 2 sisters, Donna Tronnes, Kennewick, WA, and Pat Drinkhard, Hibbing, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Sam; 3 brothers, Tim, Fern and Jim; 3 sisters, Shirley Mehelich, Sharon Brady and Lorraine Brady; and infant brother; 2 grandchildren, Lisa and Mike Butts; and son-in-law, James Skadberg.
