Marvin E. Charboneau

Gitichi Aandaag (Great Crow)

Marvin Eugene Charboneau, Gitichi Aandaag (Great Crow),  was born July 3, 1975, and made his journey to the Spirit World on July 4, 2016, at home in the loving arms of his family at the age of 41.

Marvin lived his life to the fullest. He was the wonderful son of Gregory Charboneau and Lila St. Claire, and was born in Rolla, ND, at the Presentation Center. Marvin was a true free spirit and a strong fighter; he never let anything ever get him down. He always found a way to get it done. Marvin was very talented in many fields of life, he worked in many jobs including being a fire fighter for Spirit Lake, and had odd jobs in Fargo, ND, but his true passion was working on any vehicle. There wasn’t anything he did not know about a car. For many years Marvin had found his passion and fulfilled his dream by working on multiple cars with Cliff Reeves. Through this, Marvin and Cliff formed a bond that lead to Marvin being Cliff’s pit man at Speedway Races every Saturday night in Doyon, ND. But, what Marvin Charboneau enjoyed most about life was his family. Family meant everything to him; he loved spending time visiting, playing cards and just being in the presence of his family.

He was united in marriage to Olisa Grayhorn his childhood sweetheart, on December 5, 1998 at Fiddler’s Hall, Belcourt, ND. They made their home in Devils Lake, ND.

Marvin is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years, Olisa; sons Brendon Belgarde Jr. and Womdee Belgarde; and his one and only baby girl Tinisha Grace Charboneau; his grandbabies Brendon Belgarde III and Destiney Denise Tomhawk; his parents Lila St. Claire, Belcourt, and Gregory Charboneau Sr., Devils Lake; siblings Stacie Shipman, Fargo, Sheila (Howie) Charboneau, Ft. Totten, Gregory Charboneau Jr., Belcourt, Cody (Randi Lynn) St. Claire, St. John, and Ester (Lance) Henry of Glendive, MT. His godchildren Cameron Jade Charboneau-Hill, Dwayne Charboneau III, Saberina Charboneau, and Andrea Decoteau; and his godmother Elizabeth “Betty” St. Claire.

Marvin was preceded in death by his grandparents Red Snodgrass, Anthony Charboneau Sr. Rose Baker, Marvin St. Claire, Ernestine (Day) St. Claire; godfather Carl St. Claire; uncles Manny St. Claire Sonny Charboneau, Steve Charboneau, Timothy Charboneau, Clayton St. Claire, Willard St. Claire; aunts Carmelita St. Claire, and Lorraine “Tootsie” Charboneau; nephews Matthew Charboneau-Hill and Ethan Charboneau-Delong; cousins Lonnie Charboneau, Joel Lenior, Jr., Curtis Hawk; friends Lance Miner and Murphy Hill.
