Emery F. Hoyt
Emery F. Hoyt, age 72, of McHenry, ND, died Monday, April 23, 2012, at his home under the care of Presentation Hospice of Carrington.
On August 15, 1964, Emery was united in marriage to Jeanne Christofferson at Valley Grove Lutheran Church at Kloten, ND. They lived on a farm near McHenry where he raised purebred Hereford cattle, raised horses, and farmed small grains. Emery later worked for Rustad Farms of Kindred, ND, drove truck, did custom farm work, and worked several years for Landis Farms of Larimore, ND. He was a member of the Quarter Mile Racing Club in Carrington. Emery enjoyed car racing, hunting, fishing, trapping, roping, horseback riding, breaking horses, antiques, playing cards, music and dancing. He had a love of rodeo, both attending and watching! Emery loved visiting with family and friends. Emery is survived by his wife Jeanne; one daughter Jodi Hoyt and two granddaughters, Kaia and Annika Endrud, all of Moorhead, MN; two sisters, Gladys Walen, Cooperstown, ND and Delores (Arnold) Haugland, Jamestown, ND; three brothers, Duwayne (Gladys) Hoyt and Vernon (Sheila) Hoyt, both of McHenry, ND, and Edgar (Janice) Hoyt, Mayville, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Jane Hoyt and Verna Walen; two brothers-in-law, Andrew Walen and Milton Walen.
