Lyle Forde
Lyle Forde, 80, of Carrington, ND, died Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, ND. Lyle Glenn Forde was born on April 17, 1937, in Tolna, ND, the son of Gerald and Edna (Porter) Forde. He grew up and attended school in Tolna, and graduated from Tolna High School. After graduation he went on to NDSSS for two years. Lyle was united in marriage to Jane Lillian Dahl on June 1, 1958,in Sigdal Lutheran Church. They had four daughters together Tamy, Lois, Teresa, and Jessie. Lyle worked for several companies which included Weisman Road Construction, Allen Lewis Sheet Metal Heating & Air-Conditioning in Deadwood, SD, and Farmers Union Heating & Air-Conditioning in Rolette, ND. In 1966, he started his own business, J&L Sales, in Carrington, he retired in 2000. After retirement he drove school bus in Carrington and had his bus route for ten years. He enjoyed teaching Kelly and Jerome how to fish, while fishing they made their own prayer at the lucky fishing spot “Our Tower which art in heaven”, flying his plane, deer hunting, camping, and traveling to Canada to fish. He treasured trips with his girls, and close friends. He enjoyed watching his Vikings Football games, and spending time in his garden raising tomatoes and peas. Lyle was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had served on the council. He is survived by his wife Jane Forde; daughters Tamy (Kevin) Knigge, Lois (Jerry) Readle, Teresa (Donnie) Theis, Jessie (Bob) Schafer; grandchildren:Tamy-Erica (Mike) Rons, Danielle (Steve) Kawano, Sydney (Brandon) Coble, Jeremy Knigge (Tasha);Teresa-Kelly (Tom) Bjerke, Stephanie (Brandon) Miller; Lois-Sarah Reimer (Tomas), Nathan Reimer, John Mark Readle, Philip Readle; Jessie-Jerome (Libby) Lies, Laura Lies (Shane), Jessa (Evan) Gross, Zach Schafer; great-grandchildren: Tamy- Ava, Jack, Ty; Teresa- McCoy, Hartley, Tenley; Jessie- Ashtyn, Owen; sister Iris (David) Brimer; brothers, Allan (Doris) Forde, Jerry (Cheryl) Forde, Maurice (Marcia) Forde; brothers-in-law Willis Dahl, Lyle (Carol) Dahl; and sister-in-law Margie (John) Messner.
Visitation & Prayer Service: Sunday, December 3rd, beginning 5PM-7PM, with family present to receive friends. Prayer Service to follow at 7:00PM, all in Evans Funeral Home, Carrington. We are so glad we got to see Lyle before we left. Such good memories. We will miss Lyle. Wish we could be there to give you all a hug..
