Marlys Foster
Marlys Foster, age 81, of New Rockford, ND, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Marlys Hein was born on November 9, 1931, at Hartley, IA, one of four children born to Rudolph and Selma (Zinn) Hein. She attended grade school and high school at Hartley, and college at Sioux Falls, SD. On September 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to Ivan Orin Foster at Hartley. They lived in New Rockford, ND, all of their married lives. She was a secretary at Foster Auto Parts for seven years, and then she was also a secretary at New Rockford Medical Clinic for twenty-four years. After retiring she was very active with quilting, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and New Rockford Red Hats. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and was active in many of the church functions. She is survived by her husband, Ivan; 2 sons, Calvin, Fargo, and Carter (Pilar), Phoenix, AZ; 1 sister, Teresa (Denny) Durst, Warsaw, IN; and many nieces and nephews. Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, Selma and Rudolph Hein; 2 brothers, Clarence Hein, Orlan (Dorothy) Hein; and her in-laws, Kenneth and Gladys Foster. She will be dearly missed by all of her friends and family, but never forgotten. The family would like to say Thank You for all of the cards, flowers and prayers while Marlys was at Sanford Health!
