James L. French
James L. French, 75, of New Rockford, ND, died Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
James Lewis French was born April 9, 1937, the son of Ernest and Yvonne (Chale) French at Oakwood, ND. He attended school for a time and returned home. Following the death of his father, James entered Grafton State School at Grafton, ND. In September of 1984, he became a part of the 4th Corporation community, living in Carrington, ND. In 1987, he moved to a 4th Corporation group home in New Rockford.
James loved collecting keys, coffee mugs, anything John Deere, caps and playing cards. “How the heck are you?” was his usual greeting, always said with a big smile. James enjoyed watching western movies, listening to country music c/ds, and making crafts. He was a member of Central North Dakota Steam Threshers Reunion (CNDSTR), New Rockford.
James is survived by his sister, Judy (Robert) Ziemski, Granbury, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth; three sisters, Adorine Bebich, Madonna French, and Lucille McDermaid.

Message: Judy; So sorry to hear of your loss. Hearing the news of Jimmy brings back many memories of Oakwood. In the 1950's, we were always riding bikes, playing ball, and sliding down the hill behind school. Jimmy was always there when there was something happening in Oakwood.

Message: We were very sad to hear of Jimmy's passing. Kevin worked at the Grafton State School (Developmental Center now), and remembers Jimmy being such a pleasant man to be with. I remember him from growing up in Oakwood. Jimmy would come over to talk to my older brothers--he loved to talk about all kinds of vehicles.
