Louise Garman
Louise C. Garman, age 103, of Carrington, ND, formerly of Sykeston, ND, died Friday, June 19, 2015, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington. Louise Catherine Garman was born on February 14, 1912, on a farm in Wells County near Sykeston, to Martin and Katherine (Laber) Fruhwirth. After growing up on the family farm, Louise set out for Chicago, where she worked for several years, before returning to North Dakota. On May 10, 1937, Louise was joined in marriage with Joe Garman, who later passed away in 1980. They made their home and shared a life together on various farms around the Sykeston and Hawksnest area for many years until moving into the town of Sykeston in 1961. Louise was an employee of the United States Postal Service for many years while working at the Sykeston Post Office. She loved playing cards games, reading and listening to music, especially Lawrence Welk. Louise is survived by two sons, Herb (Edna) Garman, Conrad, MT, Gary Garman, Sykeston; daughter, Della Benton, Palmdale, CA; daughter-in-law, Alice Garman, Conrad, MT; eleven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Garman; son, Richard; five brothers and four sisters.
