Message: Hard to lose a good friend like Bob. Such a great part of our community; truly one in a million. One of my Reverse Angle column's biggest fans, and one who seemed to understand it so well. He was loved, and he will be missed, by so many of us. C.S. Lewis writes, in his book, 'The Weight of Glory,' "There are no ordinary people. You have never met a mere mortal." Soli Deo Gloria!

Message: Uncle Bob was my dads brother. I remember when he was the goofy uncle who always came strolling up casually to throw me up in the air every time he visited until I was like 11. When uncle Bob became more mentally (ill - I don't like that phrase) well his reality and everyone else's were different. Anyway he pushed family away hard. Sometimes we wanted to make him take drugs and conform. Thank you every single person in Carrington for every kind or decent word you spoke to my Uncle I love him very much. I always trusted Dee Dee to keep an eye on him. I can't come back for his funeral I'm in the middle of harvest. My love to all.

Message: I only recently got the pleasure of visiting with Bob. I would take him a plate of cookies as I learned he loved to drink coffee. He was wonderful to visit with and could hold a conversation about most anything, gardening, bugs, the years he drove truck, growing up, etc. A very wise man. Very proud as well. Didn't want to accept from others unless he could give back, even cookies. I asked him to draw for me.

He was truly a wonderful artist! He would see something one time, then turn around and draw it down to the very littlest detail. Bob, RIP my friend!!!! I will miss seeing you!

Message: Bob was the epidomy of a human soul that wanted to do things on his own. He knew so many here in town and he never shied away from conversations with those who came into his path. He had a quirky sense of humor that would make me laugh and then he would have to giggle a bit at himself as well. He admitted he had mellowed "just a bit" in his old age and he was greatful for those who visited with him. Can't wait to meet him again one glorious day. Peace to his family.

Message: I didn't know Bob well, but sat next to him once about 5 years ago and we visited. He had an incredible memory of my parents, Walt and Erma Beaton and related a few stories to me. I could tell he was an intelligent man and a good heart. I think many people in town looked out for him. May he rest in peace.
