Margaret Hagel
Margaret Hagel, age 93, of Carrington, ND, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at Golden Acres Manor,Carrington. Margaret Helen Rose Hammes was born April 3, 1922, the daughter of John and Emma (Wild) Hammes in Sykeston,North Dakota. She was raised in Sykeston and graduated from Sykeston High School in 1939.
Margaret married Clifford Hagel on January 17, 1941, in Jamestown, North Dakota. They farmed southwest of Carrington until 1974. Together they raised eight children and were married for 56 years. She was an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Margaret is survived by her eight children: Jerry (Judy) Hagel, Bellevue, WA; Jeanne (Dennis) Unterseher, Oolteway, TN; Colleen (Keith) Messersmith, Lamar, CO; Kathleen Fernandez, Denver, CO; Marla (Eddie) Bahnmiller, Chaseley, ND; Janelle (Michael) Doerfler, Monticello, MN; Lori Hagel, Carrington, ND; Rick Hagel, Omaha, NE; seven grandsons and three granddaughters: Randy, Robby, Richie, Darin, Craig, Shelly, Wendy, Stacey, Brent, and Frank; five great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters; and one sister, Freda Laber, Cooperstown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifford, brothers Eddie and John, sister Catherine, grand-daughter Jamie, grandsons Patrick and James. Although I did not know your loved one personally, I hope knowing that they are in our loving heavenly Father's memory will bring your family comfort during this difficult time. Message: We're thinking of you all! Freda loved Margaret so much and talked of her often. The times they were able to get together these last years were so special to her. Someday they'll all be back together again, and that will be wonderful!
