Kade W. Hansen
Kade Wayne Hansen of Carrington, North Dakota passed away after a brave fight with cancer on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo.
He was 5 months old. Kade was born February 26, 2015 in Fargo, North Dakota, the beloved son of Jory and Missy Hansen. Kade’s life may have been short, but the quality of his life far exceeded the quantity of time he was able to spend here as he blessed his family and those who were lucky enough to meet him. Kade taught us how to live each day to the fullest and not take anything for granted. He helped us learn more about the meaning of community as he was on numerous prayer chains and the recipient of the support of many. We all admired Kade for his courage and determination as he fought through every treatment and surgery. Even with his diagnosis, we decided that cancer wasn’t going to change the way we treated Kade and helped him live his life. When he wasn’t making trips to Fargo, he enjoyed heading to the farm to help clean up sale bulls, work with show heifers, or help cut hay. He was able to spend a few weekends hanging out at the lake with family, spent a lot of time being spoiled at his Great Grandma’s house, and even squeezed in watching a few livestock shows. Kade had sparkling blue eyes and a soft, gentle smile that could light up the room. He loved to rock with his dad as they watched the Twins, snuggle with his mom any chance he could, and be entertained by his older sisters, Molly and Cally. The memories we were able to make with him will be cherished forever. We would like to thank our family, friends, and all those who have followed Kade’s journey for their amazing support. It was humbling to see many people and groups rally together around one little boy. We will be forever grateful to the Roger Maris Pediatric Oncology doctors, nurses and staff as well as the nurses and staff of Sanford Children’s Hospital. They are our heroes and their wonderful, dedicated care for Kade as well as our entire family, will never be forgotten. Kade will be dearly missed by his parents, Jory and Missy Hansen of Carrington; sisters Molly and Cally Hansen of Carrington; grandparents Jack and Debbie Hansen of Berthold and Dennis and Betty Montgomery of Carrington; his aunts and uncles—Cody and Kim Montgomery of Carrington; Justin and Amanda Topp of Grace City; Audra Montgomery of Carrington; Cody and Brittany Hansen of Berthold; and Whitney Hansen of Bottineau as well as his cousins, Jackson and Josie Topp of Grace City; Layne Montgomery of Carrington, and Brody, Brycen, and Colten Hansen of Berthold; and his great-grandparents, Dora Montgomery of Carrington and Ralph and Phyllis Birdsall of Berthold as well as many great-aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Hayden, great-grandfather Kenneth Montgomery, and great-grandparents Harold and Patricia Hansen and Harold and Nora Schroeder.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Dakota FFA Foundation PO box 6022, Bismarck ND 58506 or sent to the Kade Hansen Benefit account at Bank Forward in Carrington.

Message: I am so sorry to read about the loss of beloved baby Kade and I wanted to extend my condolences to your family. We are encouraged by the fact that God knows and feels our pain. We are encouraged to "throw our burdens on him and he will sustain us" (Psalm 55:22). Although there are tears of grief today, God promises a joyful tomorrow without death, mourning, pain, tears or sorrow (Revelation 21:4). He also promises a resurrection to life for our loved ones who have died (John 5:28,29).
