Richard “Dick” Hennings, age 73, of Carrington, ND, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Carrington Health Center, Carrington.

Richard Dale Hennings was born April 22, 1942, in Carrington, ND, to Virgil and Doris (Percell) Hennings of rural Foster County.  He grew up on the family farm and attended country school, as well as, Carrington Public Schools. Richard worked for Elmer Hertel on his ranch for a while after school, and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, in 1959, and was honorably discharged 1963.

Upon returning to Carrington he worked for his uncle, Forest Hennings, as a carpenter.  Through the years Richard has resided in California, Oregon, and Montana, ultimately returning to his home in Carrington. He   was employed as a truck driver for Teddy Clark for several years.  Then, Richard had a small mechanic repair shop. He also worked for Jerry Biel at Biel’s Salvage Yard and he was last employed for Henry Simon at H & J Machining until his retirement.
