Janice Heringer, age 81, of Carrington, ND, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at her home in Carrington.

Janice Heringer was born, February 26, 1934, the daughter of William and Sophie (Vollmers) Kuehn.  She grew up on the family farm near Carrington.

Janice was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington, where she was baptized and confirmed.  She attended country school in Wyard Township and graduated from Carrington High School in 1952.  After high school Janice worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone for ten years in Carrington as a switchboard operator.  She worked as a cook in the Carrington School System from 1971 to 1980.  Janice worked at Super Valu Foods from 1974 until her retirement in 2007.

On July 28, 1957, Janice was united in marriage to Robert Heringer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington.  Robert died in 2007.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, yard work, and especially spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Robert Jr., Norfolk, NE, Rhonda (Mitch) Charles, Bordulac, ND, and Janelle (Wayne) Dunwoody, Edmunds, ND; grandson, Shannon (Michael) Charles of Carrington; two great-granddaughters, Morgan and Maddalen Charles, Carrington; sisters-in-law, Frances (Mervin) Indergaard, Bismarck, ND and Dorothy Heringer, St. Joseph, MS; many nieces and nephews.  Also her two precious cats, “Chloe” and “Max” and grand dog, “Greta”.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; her sisters, Mary Ann Kuehn, Lois Wede, and Elaine Gussiaas; brothers, LuVerne Kuehn, Don Kuehn, and Leonard Kuehn; brothers-in-law, John and James Heringer; mother and father-in-law, Louie and Agnes Heringer; and daughter-in-law, Ann Heringer.
