Frances "Fran" Hollingsworth

Frances “Fran” Hollingsworth, age 88, of Carrington, ND, died Friday, November 25, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.
Frances Elizabeth Merck was born July 15, 1928, in Selfridge, SD, the daughter of John and Katie (Fiest) Merck. She grew up in Sykeston, ND, and graduated in 1945. Frances was united in marriage to Jim Hollingsworth on April 25, 1946, at Sykeston. He died February 21, 1982.
Fran was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she had served 23 years as Church Women’s Circle and Funeral Chairperson. She was also active in the Carrington Senior Citizens club.
She is survived by two daughters, Helene Hollingsworth, Menoken, ND, and Julie (Joe) Hawks, Sykeston; four grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters & 3 brothers, Connie, Shirley, John, Jim, Kathy, Mary, and Mike.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters, Johanna & Alice, and her in-laws, Ralph and Helen Hollingsworth.
