Yvonne Hoppe
Yvonne Hoppe, age 79, of Carrington, ND, died Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Golden Acres Manor of Carrington. Yvonne Joyce Gross was born December 15, 1935, in Cleveland, ND, the daughter of Dan and Laura (Bitz) Gross. She grew up on the Gross farm near Carrington, and attended country school in rural Carrington. She was united in marriage to John Hoppe Sr. on September 20, 1952, in Grand Rapids, MN. They spent most of their life together in Carrington. On March 8, 2012, John passed away. Yvonne enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening, and canning food from her garden, baking, and salmon fishing with John. She was delighted in making authentic German food for the holidays. Yvonne loved being a mom and taking care of her family. She and John enjoyed traveling to Canada looking for antiques and to Arizona in their RV for the winter for over 15 years. Yvonne will be remembered for being a hard worker, a great cook and a wonderful mother. Yvonne is survived by three daughters, Vicky (Ty) Edelman, Glendive, MT, Karen Rudolph, Lincoln, ND, and Pam (Mike) Dellinger, Yakima, WA; one son, Doug (Florinda) Hoppe, Sioux Center, IA; two daughters-in-law, Deb (Wes) Leapaldt, Woodworth, ND, and Bobbi Hoppe, Sioux Center, IA; 15 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; 1 brother Bob (Patty) Gross, Carrington; 2 sisters Kay (Gary) Morlock, Bismarck, ND, Jeanette Beck, Virginia Beach, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband John; her parents; two sons John Jr., Kevin, and infant daughter Sandra Kay; 3 brothers Danny, Kenny, and Donald and brother-in-law Carl Beck.
