Janet Kathleen Rosendahl was born July 9, 1930 in Norway Lake Township, Wells County, North Dakota, the daughter of Arthur and Palma (Elken) Rosendahl. 

She attended grade school in the Lynne School.  In 1948 she graduated from the BCATS at Maddock.  She attended Minot State College and taught school for nine years in rural schools in Valhalla Township and one year in Norway Lake Township.  Janet married Oscar Jordre on December 30, 1960 at the Viking Lutheran Church.   They made their home and raised their family on the Jordre Family farm in Valhalla Township.  Oscar passed away in 1997.

Janet was a member of Eden Lutheran Church until its closure and was a member of Grandfield Lutheran Church.  She was a Sunday School teacher, Farmers Union Youth Leader, and a devoted member of the Eden Lutheran Church WELCA and the Sheyenne V.F.W. Auxiliary. 

She showed love and concern for her family and friends by sharing delicious food and baked goods.  She loved to be in the truck hauling grain for Oscar and Wayne during harvest.  She enjoyed traveling and raising large vegetable and flower gardens.  Janet also enjoyed the neighborhood birthday club, card parties, and dancing.

Janet is survived by her daughters, Lori (Lindsey) Fingarson, Edinburg, ND; and Becky (Kevin) Bachmeier, Sheyenne, ND; daughter-in-law, Jodi (Bob) Hatch, Detroit Lakes, MN; and granddaughters Vanessa (Eric) Zachariason, Hayley Fingarson and Mikayla Fingarson,  Fargo, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar, son Wayne, parents, and brother Alton Rosendahl.

Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at 10:30AM in Grandfield Lutheran Church, rural Sheyenne.
