Jennie M. Kautzman

Jennie M. Kautzman, age 89, of Carrington, ND, died Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND.

Jennie M. Eidsvoog was born on September 16, 1924, the daughter of Bert and Margaret (Waddell) Eidsvoog in rural Carrington, ND. She attended grade school at Melville, attended high school at Carrington, and teachers college at Valley City, ND.

On January 1, 1948, Jennie was united in marriage to Pete Kautzman. They farmed in Longview Township near Carrington. Jennie taught school for 2 years in Longview Township and was Treasurer of Longview Township. After Pete’s death in 1972, she worked at the Credit Union, Carrington Bakery, City of Carrington, C- Enterprises, and Natural Resource Conservation Service.

In 1974, Jennie moved into Carrington where she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served on both the council board and TLCW. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and served as treasurer for 30 years. Jennie enjoyed quilting, counted cross stitch and reading.

Jennie is survived by a son Pete (Twilla) Kautzman, Wahpeton, ND; two daughters, Linda (Frank) Waldner and Pam Kautzman, both of  Bismarck, ND; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Cecilia Park and Sharon Walter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Pete; 2 sons, Thomas and Michael; 2 brothers, Robert and Bernie; and 3 sisters, Erma, Shirley and Betty.

Message: we want to express our sympathy to the family.  i will miss, jennie, who was like my second mom.  i remember many happy memories of her when i was growing up.  mike and i want to you (her family) we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.  was talking with my dad, marvin, we were talking about all our memories of pete, jennie and the kids when they lived in hawknest area.  those were the good old days.
