Edna Kelly
Edna K. Kelly, age 97, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach, FL. Edna K. (Hausauer) Kelly was born on September 6, 1920, in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Rudolph and Katherine (Pietz) Hausauer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown. She received her elementary education at Franklin School and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1938. Edna worked as an office secretary, bookkeeper and stenographer for Chenery Hardware, Knauf Attorneys, and ND Farmers Union Insurance, all in Jamestown, and for Common Wealth Bank in Portland, Oregon. On October 5, 1946 Edna was united in marriage to E. Wayne Kelly at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown. Their marriage was blessed with 3 children, a son, John and 2 daughters, Katherine and Donna. They lived in Fargo, Enderlin and Jamestown. In 1959 they moved to Carrington, ND, where Wayne and Edna together owned and operated a farm equipment and car business for 35 years. Wayne passed away in 1993. Edna continued to make her home in Carrington. Edna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, where she was active in Ruth Rachel Circle and for many years a member of the choir and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Carrington Hospital Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, and past president of the Carrington Library Board. Edna enjoyed traveling, music, reading, and her out door flower garden. Most of all she enjoyed and loved her family. Edna is survived by 2 daughters, Donna (Sir George Buckley) Kelly, Vero Beach, FL, and Katherine (Dave) Boron, Hastings, MN; 5 grandchildren, Kelly (Lydia) Skadberg, Plymouth, MN, Sophia Skadberg, Anoka, MN, Grace Kelly, Vero Beach, FL, Melissa (James) Griffith, St. Paul, MN, and Nicole (James) Freitag, Prescott, WI; 6 great grandchild, Aubrey, Asher, Dexter, Ava, Jackson and Alexander. She also is survived by a sister, Esther Hausauer, St. Louis Park, MN, brother-in law, Donald Raatz, Bismarck, ND, daughter-in-law, Carole Tonigan, Tucson, AZ. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, E. Wayne, son, Dr. John Kelly and her parents Rudolph and Katherine, three brothers Albert Hausauer, Rodulph Hausauer, and Walter Hausauer; one sister Clara Raatz, and one sister-in-law, Mary E Hausauer.
