Gary Laber

Gary J. Laber, age 55, of Belgrade, MT, formerly of Sykeston, ND, died December 12, 2013, after losing his battle with cancer.

Gary J. Laber was born on April 23, 1958, the son of Alfred and Phyllis (Flanders) Laber in Carrington, ND. He attended school in Sykeston, ND. Gary was a member of the Army National Guard for 6 years.

He was married to Joyce McIsaac and together they had 3 children, Shannon, Shantel, and Shawn. Later, Gary and Joyce divorced.

Gary worked for a few years for Ham’s Well Service in Westhope, ND, and Reishus Construction in Mohall,, ND, along with many other odd jobs. He would do anything to help a person out. At the time of his death, he was working for a paving company in Belgrade, MT.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing darts, pool and cards.

Gary is survived by his mother, Phyllis Laber, Jamestown, ND; his children Shannon Laber and Shawn Laber, both of Mohall, ND, and Shantel Valentin, Grand Forks, ND; several grandchildren; 4 brothers, Jeff (Sharon Risgaard) Laber, Carrington, Kirk (Cheryl) Laber, Maddock, ND, Greg (Linda) Laber, Westhope, ND, and Kent Laber, Jamestown; 3 sisters, Cheryl Childress Andover, KS, Janeane (Brian) Otto, Buchanan, ND, Lynette (Brian) Himmerick, Jamestown; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Alfred; nephew Justin Laber; great nephews Dakota Nevin and Christian Laber Deltoro; and a sister-in-law Twyla Delzer.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carrington, ND
