Jean Linderman
Jean Linderman, age 89, of Carrington, ND, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd.
Jean Harriet Hanson was born March 21, 1925 near Glenfield, ND to Victor and Jessie (McLeod) Hanson. The family lived in Glenfield before moving to Carrington in 1937 when her father became the Foster County Sheriff. She continued her education graduating from Carrington High School. Prior to marriage, Jean worked at J.C. Penney’s. On September 1, 1946 Jean was united in marriage to Dale Linderman at the Federated Church parsonage. They made their home on the George Linderman farm before moving to Lemert. In 1953 they moved to their present home in Birtsell Township, where she and Dale farmed and raised their family.
Jean was a member of the Federated Church, Carrington serving as treasurer for many years, member of the Guild, Circle Martha and very active with the annual Holiday Fair making countless pies, lefse and craft items. She was a 4H leader, served on the Foster County Fair Board and active in Pioneer Homemakers.
She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. Her hobbies included gardening and yard work, cooking and baking, genealogy, crafts, jigsaw puzzles and watching the grandchildren participate in church and sporting activities. Jean will also be remembered for her practical joking and sense of humor.
Over the years Dale & Jean enjoyed traveling, visiting all 49 continental states. Some of their adventures included hunting trips, camping with their children and visiting family and friends. One of the favorite destinations was their ranch near Bozeman, MT.
Jean is survived by her husband Dale; son Kent Linderman of Carrington; daughters Georgia (Roger) Blestrud of Tioga, ND; Monica Thomasson and Roxanne Linderman both Belgrade, MT; Nadine (Roger) Florhaug of Kensal, ND; sister Fern Halcomb Beemer of Rolla, MO; niece Cindy Wyant, of St Robert, MO. Grandchildren: Tana (Matthew) Olson, Derek Blestrud, Kya (Craig) Schroeder, Reid (Samantha) Loessberg, Jessica (Ryan) Eastman, Matthew Florhaug, Daniel (Ashley) Florhaug and Ross (Katie) Florhaug, and seven great grandchildren; Siri, Soren and Jorgen Olson, Luke and Pierce Eastman, Nolan and Lydia Florhaug.
Preceding her in death were her parents and sister Marlys Burdett.
