James E. Longnecker, 89, of New Rockford, ND, passed away on Christmas Day, 2015. After falling ill in mid-December, Jim spent his remaining days at the Lutheran Home in New Rockford, where he passed peacefully with his loving wife of 65 years, Maxine, by his side.

Jim was born March 17, 1926, in New Rockford, the son of Cleo and Alma (Mauer) Longnecker. He was raised in New Rockford, and moved to California while raising a family, returning to New Rockford for his retirement years. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. His passion was woodworking, collecting and restoring antiques.

He is survived by his wife Maxine, his children Tracy, Kory, Kelly and Mark, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, his brothers Ervin and Charles and his sister Lucille.

Jim will be dearly missed by all.
