Lorraine Ferguson was born November 25, 1929, in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Kenneth and Violet
(Gwynn) Ferguson. She grew up in Carrington where she attended schools. She later received her GED in New Rockford in 1984!

Lorraine was united in marriage to Vernon Jensen on August 8, 1946 in Fargo, ND. They made their home in New Rockford, during the summer they lived in a small trailer out on the road where Vernon’s job with Archie Campbell took them. Following retirement, they continued to live in New Rockford together until his death in 1993.

Lorraine worked at various places, including Swift & Company, at New Rockford, Sioux Manufacturing, Fort Totten, and as a cook at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd for many years.

She was an active member of First Lutheran Church and Women’s Circle, and later with Helping Hands. Lorraine was also active in Eagles Auxiliary and was Past President. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was on the bowling league, was a member of the Red Hats and enjoyed playing cards in three card clubs. Lorraine enjoyed bowling, cards, cooking and baking, crafts, reading and word search puzzles, and Bingo. Lorraine, Ida Womacks, and Doris Vande Hoven had a Handicap Club. She also helped with 4-H and Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She loved and took great pride in “all� her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lorraine is survived by her two sons, Leland and LaVerne; one daughter, Beverly (Larry) Lesmeister, all of New Rockford; one daughter-in-law, Candy Jensen, New Rockford, eleven grandchildren: Eddie, Bonnie, Gerry, Corey, Wendy, Tony, Chris, Felecia, Brent, Amy and Travis, two step-grandchildren: Derik, Jerrod; six great grandchildren: Grace, Matthew, Dillon, Alexa, McKenzie, Kaden; one step-great grandchild, Cody; one brother, James (Marlys) Ferguson, New Rockford, one sister-in-law, Ethel Jensen, Carrington, loving cousins: Roland (Mary Lou) Sharbono, Fargo, Judy Gwynn Tims, Fargo, Jerry Gwynn, Jamestown; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, her son Larry, two infant grandsons, a brother Eugene Ferguson, parents Kenneth & Violet Ferguson, and grandparents William & Ada Roach.
